Meet the Teachers
Hello and welcome! My name is Kimberly Abarno and this will be my fifth year as an elementary teacher. Originally I am from New Jersey, where I went to college to receive my Bachelors and Masters in Education. After college I decided to move to North Carolina to begin my career. This will be my third year teaching third grade as a Berewick bobcat. I am very excited to see what this year will bring and to work with you and your child to have a successful, fantastic year! Thank you for sharing your babies with us this year. I can’t wait to get to know them and you.

Miss Abarno
Hello, my name is Latoya Roberts and I am a Fayetteville native. I absolutely love teaching and I am going into my 5th year. I enjoy spending time with family, shopping, and my recent hobby is couponing. I enjoyed coming to Charlotte to shop so I decided to relocate to the area among many other reasons. I have 3 children and a dog named Duchess. I look forward to growing as a teacher and working with the staff, families and scholars here at Berewick.

It is a pleasure to meet each and every one of you; scholars and families! This is my fifth year as a Berewick Bobcat and I am super excited to see what it has to offer! After graduating from West Virginia University with a Masters degree in elementary education, I moved here to Charlotte to begin my career. This is my eighth year as an elementary educator. Some of my favorite things to do are; exercise, go to concerts, and spend time with the people that I love. I am dedicated to teaching my students all that I can to make them successful and the best that they can be! Go Bobcats!

Hello & Welcome to 3rd Grade! My name is Briandria Hicks and I am looking forward to being a part of the 3rd grade team. This is my 5th year at Berewick Elementary as well as my 5th year teaching. I initially graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, but after 6yrs in Human Resources, the passion that I had for education finally pushed through and I decided to pursue it. I have not turned back since! I enjoy working with students and building relationships with them. I believe with the proper tools and supports in and outside of the classroom, all students can reach and exceed their educational goals. I am very excited about a new year and new grade level to continue to grow and work with students.
