Our Academics
Homework is used as a spiral review of the standards scholars have been taught. To avoid frustration, please encourage scholars to only work on that daily assignment rather than working ahead. Keep in mind homework should be completed independently and will be checked for understanding.
Literacy
Your child should be reading 30 minutes nightly. They should be reading books on their level and should be encouraged to use RAZ kids. Students will have passage homework weekly, increasing as the year progresses and are encouraged to use all strategies that are taught in the class.
Writing
Your child's writing should always be in complete sentences and with proper punctuation. Please have them practice writing at home with various writing prompts. Some will be sent home during the course of the school year. Ask your child what it means to write a three-star answer.
Mathematics
Student should complete homework assignments daily. They should begin learning multiplication facts and practice solving word problems independently. Please visit the Educational Resources page on this website.
